What a stunning composition, Lisa!! It’s fantastic. Kudos.

I am so glad that you think so Lucile! Thank you as always for your kindness!

Beautiful photo Lisa.

Thank you Michelle

This is a wonderful image Lisa! Hubble says”I give it 4 paws!!”

I am delighted you think so Meg. And I love Hubble’s rating system and am honored to have received 4 paws ??

I was imagining that frothy sea as the “ground” beneath your feet and feeling a bit seasick as I contemplated it! But I guess even the deck of your tiny speck in the ocean is grounding enough for a seafarer! Your trip provides such unique ways to interpret the challenges, and you always so creatively rise to the occasion.

You are very kind Lexi. Thank you. You always know just what to say to make me feel great…. And funny, I am more apt to get ‘land sick’ then ‘sea sick’ at this point. It happens sometimes when we disembark in a port after long passage and the land seems to be moving. An odd sensation indeed.

Ha. How about this. I just went to catch up on my friend Brita’s blog (SailHo) and her latest post is about sea sickness and land sickness ?

I am going to go read it this minute!

Fascinating post by your friend. Even though I expressed some fears and squeamishness about bobbing on a boat, I have actually never been seasick! My family was all nauseous at the Great Barrier Reef, but I was fine both on the boat and snorkeling for hours! My dad used to take me deep sea fishing and I didn’t get sick then either. The landsickness would be so frustrating; you must literally feel like a fish out of water.

CAN NOT WAIT to go to the Great Barrier Reef!!!! Did you post any pictures of your time there? I searched your blog but could not find them.

lexklein says:

No, but I should! I have never written much about our time in New Zealand or Australia. I don’t know why – maybe because it was longer ago. When I get home from Mexico (haha – hard to stay put!), I will make an effort to document that wonderful time!

Hope you do! And looking forward to posts from your Mexico visit! Have a great trip.

What a cool photo…amazing capture, Lisa!

Thank you so much Terri! Am thrilled that you think so!

Thank you Susi! Think of how awesome my photos would be if you were in them. Come visit.

Beautiful Lisa!

?Thank you so much Nicole!

What a lovely and thought-provoking image! That’s the kind of photo that makes me want to take my camera with me everywhere… you never know what you’ll see.

Well thank you Janis! You are wonderful to say so!

Fully agree, this is a great pic

You are wonderful to say so Dominique. Great to hear from you! How are you plans coming for your own sailing adventure?

This picture is phenomenal, Lisa. The colors are gorgeous, the photo itself is so thought provoking. Beautiful work.

Well thank you Britta! I can not wait to see the photos you are going to take on your upcoming adventures

You’re most welcome!
Ah, I can’t wait, either!

Great angle for this shot! I miss the days when the sea was the ground beneath my feet. Need to get back out there sometime soon ?

? Would love to ‘sea’ you out on the water again ⛵️

kirsten says:

Ha! I love this response!!! ⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️

It’s a lovely photo, but as a critique I can mention that I would have straightened the blue line.

OMG you are so spot on with your critique. Thank you. And your feedback is timely. This was one of six images that I had planned to submit for a photo contest today. While I am leaving the original image here as posted, I made your suggested adjustment to the contest submission. So much better. Yay.

Perfect timing! 🙂

Sweet.

I am delighted that you think so Ann! Thinking of you…only 36 days until Spring ?

Yes, nearly upon us.

[…] Hamburg   I really enjoyed the final shots below as well. The first one, from Lisa Dorenfest, shows an unexpected point of view looking down on a person in a ship at […]

Hey…congrats on being chosen by Cheri as a great shot!!!

OMG! So excited! Thanks for being the bearer of such wonderful news Mr Bad Fish! Just sailed back into Denarau from a few days visit to Likuri Island and was greeted with your congratulatory ping. Absolutely tickled!

badfish says:

I know…it’s almost like being Freshly Pressed. Maybe better!!

?!

badfish says:

I know…cool, eh!

Well done you! It’s a fabulous shot 🙂 There you are, bobbing about in the ocean, and you still manage to knock everyone’s socks off! 🙂

What a lovely compliment Jo! And thank you so much for the Tweet. How luck am I to have the ocean to inspire me ?⛵️

My comment is late, but I will add my accolades to all the others: It really is a great composition and beautiful photo! As far as “straightening the blue line” goes, I guess that shows you how ignorant I am—because I can’t see that the blue line is crooked! Beautiful job, Lisa!

Heeeellllooooo Kirsten! So lovely to hear from you. Think of you often and wish you were here. We would have a blast together in Fiji!
Thank you for your very kind words. They mean a great deal to me. Hugs to Patrick ⛵️

such a cool point of view/perspective. wonder what the person below is thinking. are they looking? listening? they appear so calm above the churn. nice job!

Wonderful to hear from you Mr TRB! Think of you often! Hope all is awesome on the home front. Perhaps she is dreaming of living a long, adventurous life at sea ⛵️??.

Your blog is so beautiful. I love the layout and the pictures are gorgeous.

Well thank you! I am delighted you think so. Thanks for sailing with me virtually here!
