Wow! So many fascinating sculptures!

Glad you liked it. This truly has to be the most amazing outdoor sculpture event that I have ever seen. They attract great talent here and you can’t beat that coastal backdrop. What a magnificent show!

Love all the photos of people interacting with the sculptures. Troubled Youth was funny and troubling all at the same time. I gotta ask what was that woman doing with the P.O.P. sculpture? Did it have a sound like a shell held to your ear?

Troubled Youth was probably my fourth favorite image of the entire event, but my picture didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped and so didn’t include it in the main blog post. The lady in the P.O.P sculpture is me trying to be funny acting like I was one of those B-Movie Starlets inside the jaws of the beast. Unfortunately, I am probably a far cry from a B Movie Starlet and the fellow that I grabbed randomly from the throngs to take the picture didn’t quite take it from the right angle. Oh well, I guess I will just have to stick to Project Management as a career rather than comedy or film

I have to say there are some amazing sculptures and some people with brilliant imaginations. I particularly like some of your black and white images that when compared to the colour ones really stand out and bring more life to the image.

Well thank you Mark. I have to admit that typically, I only use black and white when I love the composition but dislike the way it looks in color no matter how I try to fix the image. When I get to that point, I try to save the image by converting to BW. But your words have encouraged me to explore BW more often, even for images that I think look super in color. Looking forward to a new post from you soon. Am craving more of your wit!

I’m wondering how new these are. I don’t remember them when I visited Bondi. Gotta love a country with that kind of imagination, and follow through with art. On a beach! Next, they’ll be painting the rocks.

Ahoy there Mr Badfish…or should I say g’day? Sculpture by the Sea is in its 19th year here in Sydney and this year ran from 22 October until 9 November. Bondi is beautiful but with these sculptures, it was glorious. You’ll just have to come back here for a visit for the twentieth annual exhibition.

Great gallery. What was it like in the mouth of that orc? 🙂
Some stand out sculptures this year, but everyone has different favourites. You went on a good weather day.

?Thank you! You are very, very kind. The orc’s beautiful bronze mouth was large, cold and solid. Wish you’d been there to take that photo….if anyone could have made that work, it is you. Looking forward to seeing your upcoming installments on the show. You images front this year and from 2014 are without compare. I will learn by observing the master!

Thank you. 🙂

This is awesome. It looks like a beautiful outdoor art museum.

So many great works on such a beautiful backdrop Eva! Delightful!
