This one is for The Daily Post
Mary Davenport Cook. My best friend….
….and the impetus for my sailing journey.
When she was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer in March 2005, she decided that we needed to do a lot of traveling together to create memories so we wouldn’t forget her.
Given that we’d been friends since I was six, it was pretty unlikely that I would forget her, but those last five years together did create some incredible memories.
The photos here are not my best as I did not fall in love with the art of photography until much later.
But given that I probably haven’t taken my best photos yet anyway (still training), I thought I would use this week’s challenge to honor my best friend.
Gone but not forgotten.
You must really miss her. Looks like you two had lots of great times.

We most definitely did have a lot of great times Janet. I miss her every day.
A beautiful hommage.

We did indeed Karen. We had a blast!

Thank you Susi. Your comment brought a tear to my eye.
This lovely comment was received from my friend Liesbet Collaert at http://www.itsirie.com/. She was unable to post here due to French Polynesia internet limitations (I know them well). Thank you Liesbet.
“Very touching photo submission, Lisa; a great tribute and I know that you think about her and miss her every day. But, I also know that she is part of your every adventure and that you inspired each other immensely. Such incredible memories and good times to cherish!”
