For Day 2 of the 5 Day B&W Photo Challenge, I share two photos!
The first photo was originally presented in color for Photography 101 back in November of 2014.
My good friend and mentor, Karen of Thurmanovich Photography saw the image and suggested that it was a great candidate for a black and white. The black and white version made it into a guest post that I wrote for Karen’s blog in December, but has never been published on this site.
The second photo was taken on the same day as the first image in Tafahi, Tonga, a very lovely place with wonderful, welcoming people. The young girl in this image reminds me a bit of myself when I was that age. Actually, I am kind of feeling like this today.

Ha! Love the expressions on both girls’ faces. Especially the first one, the boy seems clueless LOL!

Glad you liked them 🙂 Those girls were full of personality and the young man was so easy going that he could easily roll with their punches. Cluelessness in that moment certainly helped.

How nice to be reminded of that first image. I hadn’t seen the second – it’s gorgeous and I love the black & white treatment. Really allows me to focus on the cheeky little girl.

It was the “clueless” little boy that I was drawn to! I didn’t see that at all; I just saw warmth and sweet happiness! I love that face!
