The crew of Amandla lifted anchor on 27 October 2014 and are sailing toward New Zealand via Minerva Reef.
We will be off-grid for 2+ weeks but will be sending periodic position updates with our satellite phone along the way which you can follow on Farkwar or on Twitter .
The New Zealand passage can be a challenging one so we have fingers crossed for fair winds and calm seas.
And when we get there, I will have sailed over half way around the world! The Captain passed his halfway mark some time ago.
