One Ocean At A Time

Kia Ora Hōkūle‘a

Our love affair with Hōkūle‘a continued with today’s arrival of the Polynesian voyaging canoe in Aotearoa (New Zealand).

While The Captain and I were photographing/filming the arrival of Hōkūle‘a, one of the crew asked if we could help with their mooring lines.

After the lines were secured, we joined a few other dinghys  to help push Hōkūle‘a toward the Q Dock.

It was fun to be a small part  of Hōkūle‘a’s voyage.  And The Captain caught some great footage of the experience.  Check it out on Amandla’s YouTube Channel.

I love the history of sailing so to see a boat like this on the water who’s design has not changed for so long is a real pleasure. Thank your for the photos and posting this.
